Small businesses are an extremely crucial part of American life because they are the lifeblood of our whole economy. Most businesses are small to medium in size and are basically the foundation upon which our entire country and economy was built. Please enjoy our new quarterly feature called Small Business Spotlight, that will highlight a small business in our surrounding area. This quarter our Small Business Spotlight is Red Berry Cafe located in Troy, Ohio.

Name of Business: Red Berry Cafe
Briefly describe your business: We’re a small, independently owned breakfast, lunch and brunch restaurant, opened from 6:30am-2pm Tuesday-Sunday. We have a “modern farmhouse” atmosphere, with a focus on superior customer service and a made from scratch menu. We also have a full service bar, where we offer a variety of mimosas, house-made Bloody Mary’s coffee drinks and more!
When did your business start? We opened in July 2020. Given the situation with restaurants that year, I think it makes us unique!
How did you get started in this business? It’s in my blood. My parents opened Michael Anthony’s Pasta & Grill in Sidney when I was 9. I worked for the family business for most of my life.
Where do you see your business in the next year? We are grateful that the community has really supported us, and now that people feel comfortable eating at restaurants again, we see our business continue to evolve both in our menu and bar offerings, and what we call our “after hours” events.
How has Greenville Federal helped your business grow? They have made banking convenient, personable, and give you faith that they will be there when you need them. We also look forward to having them as a neighbor!
What is the one thing about your business that people may not know? Aside from our usual operating hours, we are also a fantastic after-hours venue. We do monthly themed pairing dinners with live music and we rent the restaurant out for private events!
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working? I spend an hour or two a day running and/or boxing. I like to read, cook and play video games (when I have time). I also love the Renaissance Faire! My husband and I try to go at least a few times a year.
