GREENVILLE – For the past seven years, Greenville Federal has held a Community Shred Day.  According to Jeff Kniese, President and CEO, their team made the decision to provide this event for the community in support of Earth Day and also to continue GF’s ongoing recycling initiative.

Kniese said they didn’t track the number of vehicles who participated in this year’s event but at one point in time the line of cars wrapped halfway around their building. He estimated approximately 12,000 pounds of documents were taken in for shredding.

Kniese also commented, “We are a firm believer in giving back to the communities we serve so this is just one way we do so.  We also like to promote shredding of confidential documents to protect against identity theft.  All of the expense of this event is paid for by Greenville Federal and we’re glad to offer this to the community.”
