“They did a great job,” Franklin Monroe volleyball coach Angie Filbrun said of her team’s play in the tournament. “Worked hard all day and played well as a team together. Fun win for them.”

The opening round of the tournament began with Franklin Monroe defeating Mississinawa Valley, Ansonia defeating Newton, Tri-Village defeating Bradford and Arcanum defeating Tri-County North.

Franklin Monroe beat Ansonia and Arcanum beat Tri-Village in the semifinals. FM then beat Arcanum 25-16, 25-16 to win the championship.

Filbrun was excited to see her team in complete control on Saturday against a tough Arcanum squad.

After losing in the semifinals, Tri-Village beat Ansonia in the third place match.

In the consolation bracket, Mississinawa Valley beat Newton and Tri-County North beat Bradford. Tri-County North then beat Mississinawa Valley in the fifth place match while Newton beat Bradford in the seventh place match.
